So today's post was suppose to be a review, however I am writing this significantly less advance then I like to have it be, so we are changing things up and posting a book tag to not miss a post. This one is really short so I will be giving more description than I usually do, and maybe in some cases I'll maybe have two books. So let's just get started on the tag.
1. Recommend the best book that you read last month.
One of the books was a reread which was This Savage Song by Victoria Schwab-which is about a world where violence breeds monster and we are hearing the story from the point of view of a monster who wants to be human and a human who wants to be monstrous-I love this book and I gushed about it already a lot. However I would like to recommend A List of Cages by Robin Roe which is a emotional read with family at the forefront and the power and importance of friendship. A contemporary and a fantasy all in one bundle, go me.
2. Recommend an old favourite.
I am going to be pretty obvious and say pretty much anything by Rick Riordan. Rick writes middle grade modernized stories about different mythologies mainly Greek, Roman and Norse up at this point in his writing. Please note, it is probably for the best to read them in the order they are published, but I love his worlds.
3. Recommend a non-fiction.
This one is a bit weird for me to answer since I don't read very many non-fiction books, because fiction is my thing and we are not going to be meddling with things we are not familiar with. Although the one that I have read and really enjoyed was A Work in Progress by Connor Franta, which is a memoir that he wrote a little while ago and I love his youtube channel and the audiobook is narrated by him.
4. Recommend a book that will help people escape.
For me, books that help people escape tend to be the books that are not taking place in this world and the problems in the story are not ones that I could ever face. I am going to recommend first, An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir. This book follows Laia after her grandparents were murdered and her brother taken prisoner becoming a slave to act as a spy for the resistance, and Elias a soldier who wants nothing more than to not be. I loved this book and its sequel and I cannot wait for the third book to be released later this year.
So there is the tag. I hope you enjoyed this post because really enjoyed sharing some recommendations. I have a new post up on Tuesdays and Thursdays and occasionally on other days. And with that Kendra is out, peace!
