Christmas One Shot

The snow swirled as it fell,

As you sat snuggled on the other side of the glass.

Underneath a pile of blankets,

Right beside the Christmas tree.

Presents littered the base,

some hitting the branches and cradles the ornaments.

Waiting patiently to see the sun,

And be used as more than pretty nothings.

But then it is morning,

Children running around, ripping paper.

Laughter and cheerful feelings

As they receive what they wanted.

The sun sets slowly,

And as people start to gather.

We are reminded of the good,

and the meaning of the holidays once again.
