My Thoughts (Spoilers)

Two reviews of technically adult books back to back how good am I. More of the fact that I haven't forgotten every little detail of these books, since I am just catching up on the books that I haven't been able to do them before, due to the whole school thing.

Anyways my thoughts on this book are going to be a little scatterbrained. But I do remember loving the how badass all the characters are, and even though there was a bit of a romance, it was never the main focus of the novel. This book can only be described as brutal, the characters and the actions of it. To be fair it was stupid for someone to think it wouldn't be since Nevernight is about assassins.

The writing style at first however was very hard to get into. I found the actually writing different and hard to connect when the story was being built up, and the footnotes. Hell they were the worst for me, since when I am reading I don't even notice the symbols that indicate the footnote being pointing out, and I never really got use to them.

I loved the main character Mia. I just found her story and background so interesting and really hard to understand in full. My favourite part would have to be her shadow cat Mr. Kindly. I found him so amazing and everything. He was just a sassy motherfucker.

“The books we love, they love us back. And just as we mark our places in the pages, those pages leave their marks on us. I can see it in you, sure as I see it in me. You're a daughter of the words. A girl with a story to tell.”
