The first thing I am going to say is this is the best books of 2016, that I have read and in my point of view. I am going to be doing this like Head in Her Books, check out her post if you will. With that said, let's get started.
Favourite Series Debuts
This Savage Song by Victoria Schawb, is definitely up here. This is the first of her books I have read, and I am hoping in 2017 to read more of her books. The characters and world in this book is only something I can hope to have in my writing.
Lady Midnight by Cassandra Clare. I am so excited to have Emma has a main character, because like anybody, I am happy to have another blonde badass character to join the ranks. In another note, I am running out of room on my Cassandra Clare bookshelf.
Now, The Hidden Oracle by Rick Riordan. I am so happy to be back at Camp Half-Blood and everything in the Percy Jackson series that wasn't in the Heroes of Olympus series.
Favourite Sequels
The Copper Gauntlet by Cassandra Clare and Holly Black. I loved this book, I read it when I happen to have read so many YA books, bringing in such a different feel.
The Hammer of Thor by Rick Riordan, and yes I do know I have two of his books on my favourites list. Rick brings in so much knowledge about the LBGT+ community, without making it seem forced.
A Torch Against the Night by Sabaa Tahir. These books are so good, and I don't know what else to say about them.
Favourite Series Finales
I have very few in this category, I really need to finish some series. Anyways, Thor's Serpents by K.L. Armstrong and M.A. Marr. This is a series centering Norse mythology, which seems to be growing in my reading life.
Crooked Kingdom by Leigh Bardugo. Basically this duology is about a group of criminals, doing a heist, that nobody has ever been able to complete.
Favourite Contemporaries
My Heart and Other Black Holes by Jasmine Warga, this is a wonderful contemporary, which is saying a lot, since this isn't a genre I enjoy often. It deals with such hard topics making it different from other contemporaries.
This is Where it Ends by Marieke Nijkamp, was such a beautiful novel that told something most people would jump away from, a school shooting. It was a very eye opening novel, and should be more known.
Favourite Book of the Year
My favourite book of the year was so hard to pick. The thing is, I managed to norrow it down to books, Truthwitch by Susan Dennard and The Call by Peadar O Guillin. Both of these books are so good, and have very interesting stories.
There is my best books of 2016, I hope you enjoyed, and if you haven't already check out my last post which was my Most Anticipated Releases of 2017. With that said, Kendra out.
